Our facilities were completed on April 30, 2012.

The facilities inspected by the North Karelia Rescue Service are safe and are excellently suited as animal shelters.

The yard area has recording camera surveillance and a fire and burglar alarm system indoors.

The starting point for planning the facilities was safety, comfort, high-quality hygiene standards and sustainable development.

In our daily operations, we take into account not only the well-being of pets, but also the environment.

  • by using detergents and disinfectants only when necessary and in precise doses,
  • by using detergents and disinfectants only when necessary and in precise doses, by collecting dog feces, chewing gum, cigarette butts and other garbage from outdoor paths, and
  • by avoiding, where possible, causing noise and other inconvenience to neighbors and residents of the surrounding area.

We chose geothermal heating as the heating method. Thanks to the underfloor heating, the premises are pleasantly draught-free. A mechanical ventilation system with heat recovery ensures good indoor air quality in an energy-efficient manner. During hot weather, we keep the indoor temperature constant with the help of a department-specific cooling system.

We divided the dog facilities into four separate sections for different types of dogs. This was to ensure a calm and comfortable care experience for small and more timid dogs. In addition, we can use movable partitions to block the line of sight of the treatment rooms if necessary. Each section has several exits, so transporting dogs is safe and does not cause unnecessary disturbance. Some of the dog spaces have hatches leading to the outdoor garden, which are used during the warm season.

Our daycare center does not have outdoor spaces for dogs, but all dogs spend their day breaks and nights indoors.

We placed the cat areas separately from the dog areas. Each cat has its own windowed space where they can jump, climb and scratch, as well as observe the birdhouse and the surrounding nature. The cat areas can be connected by opening the partition, which provides more space for more cats in the family. The cats that can be handled can take turns playing in the hallway and in the adjacent rooms.

In addition to the actual animal facilities
, our facility has an office, technical space, kitchen/food service area, and a laundry room with a washing machine and shower corner.

The environment is ideal for caring for animals. In the peaceful countryside, in the middle of the forest, we have good conditions for outdoor activities and nature walks.
